Maple Retreat is a two year old specious executive two storey, four bedroom house located in the prestigious, award winning, alpine inspired Silver Ridge. Maple Retreat is nestled in the foothills of the Coastal Mountains, surrounded by forest and mountainous terrain, and backing on to an equestrian trail and creek.
A reception area leads off the front entrance, which opens onto the main floor which features a very open and welcoming floor plan which is excellent for entertaining, and features the entrance reception, kitchen, dining room, and great room. A corridor leads to a bathroom and to the laundry room with a door off the laundry room providing access to the garage. The laundry room is equipped with separate washer and dryer and also has a wet area, for the storage of exterior clothing and footwear. Also located off the entrance reception are the study, and the staircase to the second floor. For your safety Maple Retreat is equipped with smoke detectors, and a fire protection sprinkler system throughout the property.
The kitchen features stainless steel professional appliances, including a gas stove, with electric convection oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a garburator, and a double door refrigerator with ice cube maker and cold water dispenser complete the set. The kitchen is finished with granite counter tops, a central island with bar stools for informal dining, and a walk-in pantry. A door from the kitchen leads to a deck which is equipped with a gas barbeque, outside furniture, and access to the garden. The gas barbeque is connected to the mainline gas, and is equipped with a side burner, and an electric rotisserie.
The kitchen leads to the dining room which features formal dining furniture, including a dining table which seats eight. The dining room leads to the great room which features a charming gas fireplace, two large stuffed leather sofas, to create a cozy setting. A 42 inch flat screen television, with a DVD/CD player with a surround sound system. Cable television is connected providing access to over sixty television stations.
Situated off the entrance reception is the study which looks onto the front garden and is furnished with an Edwardian style study desk, and bookcase including fiction and non-fiction works, a PC with internet access, and a Printer, with print/copy/scan functionality. The study is also provided with a leather adjustable reading chair for comfortable reading, and a telephone.
A staircase leads to the second floor which features four bedrooms, and the main bathroom. The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling queen sized bed, a walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom. The en-suite bathroom includes a large sunken bathtub, a separate walk-in shower, and a granite counter featuring two sinks. A door off the on-suite leads to the toilet. The master bedroom is provided with cable television and a telephone. Bedrooms two and three feature queen sized beds with matching furniture, a built-in wardrobe, and bedroom four has a double sized bed with matching furniture, and a built-in wardrobe also. The main bathroom features a bathtub, shower, toilet and a granite counter with two separate sinks.
The exterior of Maple Retreat features a two car garage, front and back gardens, which are professionally maintained. The front of the house includes a wrap around veranda overlooking the garden with bench seating for taking in the early morning sun. The rear garden opens directly onto the equestrian and walking trails which meander through Silver Ridge.
Situated in this rustic location Maple Retreat is a fifty minute drive to the City of Vancouver, with its boutiques, shops, award winning restaurants and vibrant night life. The Westcoast Express train service connects Maple Ridge with the City of Vancouver, with a journey time of thirty-five minutes from Maple Ridge to the Vancouver downtown station, which is located by the harbour. The resort of Whistler is a ninety minute drive from Maple Retreat via the Sea to Sky Highway which passes through the town of Squamish, the outdoor capital of Canada. Maple Retreat is only a sixty minute drive to Vancouver International Airport, a forty five minute drive to Abbotsford Airport, and the United States Border is a forty five minute drive from Maple Retreat.
A ten minute drive from Maple Retreat are the amenities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, providing easy access to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and movie theaters. A theatre and arts centre, a recreational centre featuring a number of swimming pools and a fitness centre, and a new public library are also found in Maple Ridge. A short five minute drive or leisurely walk from Maple Retreat is the Black Sheep Pub and Restaurant.
Maple Retreat is located adjacent to the UBC Research Forest, and Golden Ears Provincial Park, and in-between the North and South Alouette Rivers, which flow into the Pitt River. The Rivers are home to a number of species of trout, and other local fish providing excellent recreational fishing. Close-by, and located close to the Black Sheep Pub, and situated along the South Alouette is a Water Park for children, featuring a family area including barbequing facilities. Opposite the Water Park is an equestrian centre, with a second equestrian centre a five minute drive away.
The area enclosed by the Pitt, North and South Alouette Rivers is home to over twenty five kilometers of off road walking and cycle trails. The trails which are maintained by Vancouver Parks are located on flat terrain, routed adjacent to the rivers and suitable for all ages and abilities.
The Pitt River provides excellent canoeing opportunities, providing access to Pitt Lake, and the North and South Alouette Rivers. Canoes are available for rent at Pitt Lake. The area also contains a number of public and private golf courses, which are open to visitors, including the Swan-e-set Bay Resort & Country Club.
The UBC Research Forest is a fifteen minute walk from Maple Retreat covering some 5157 hectares of varying terrain. The forest includes a number of trails ranging from 1.4 km to 6.5 km in distance, to suit all levels of experience, the North Alouette River, six main lakes, and several smaller watersheds.
Golden Ears Provincial Park is a ten minute drive from Maple Retreat, and is one of the largest parks in the Province of British Columbia, some sixty two thousand hectares in size. Golden Ears Provincial Park is prized for its recreational opportunities, which includes an extensive system of trails providing excellent opportunities for hiking, off road cycling, and horseback riding. Alouette Lake is popular for swimming, windsurfing, water-skiing, canoeing, boating and fishing. Rentals are available for canoes, kayaks and pedal boats. The park also provides a number of picnic areas where camp fires are allowed.
